the one world schoolhouse

the learning process is something you can incite, literally incite, like a riot.

For a long time I've been meaning to share a link to one of the most important websites I've ever seen, and one that is a perfect an example of the kind of purpose for which the www is most suited: the sharing of information and knowledge.

It's the Khan Academy, which was quite accidentally founded a few years ago by a fellow named Salman Khan, who was trying to teach algebra to a relative, and decided to put up his lessons on YouTube. The response to this first post was tremendous and inspired Khan to develop the online learning site. Here's how it describes itself: “Learn almost anything for free. With a library of over 4,000 videos on everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and hundreds of skills to practice, we’re on a mission to help you learn what you want, when you want, at your own pace.”

So, if you're a person who looks for answers and knowledge on YouTube, or if you've never thought to do this, you might want to check out this wonderful website.

I've added a ted talks with Salman Khan, along with the link to the Khan Academy website (below), just so you can get to know this amazing guy and the site a little better
.
